Visual artists are highly encouraged to submit their work to LoBot Gallery even if we are not formally requesting submissions for a particular exhibition. We are constantly interesting in expanding our awareness of art and the individual.

-Visual Art (2D)-
We prefer to recieve visual art submissions in digital form alongside a short bio or statement. Level of formality in the presentation is entirely up to the artist, if we need more information we will request it.
If you are interested in sending slides please forward to us (Attn: Visual Art Submissions) with an included SASE. Slides will not be returned otherwise.
If you are interested in a studio visit please send digital images first; even if you are interested in bringing your work by. Submissions can be made here.
-Sculpture/Installation (3D)-
Submissions procedure for 3D work is the same as above. Please include a thorough description of the work within your submission. You can do that here.
-Video/Film/New Media (4D)-
Submissions for 4D work can be e-mailed here (if under 20mb). Otherwise, 4D submissions can be made in the form of a DVD, VHS, or Quicktime CD mailed to 1800 Campbell St - Oakland - CA - 94607. Unless previous arrangements are made 4D submissions will not be returned. Please include a complete list of equipment used in displaying or presenting the piece.
Currently requesting submissions for:
Make/Heart/Brake - Art made to win the love for the first time, the 2nd time or the 1oth time. Or Art made in response to your heart being torn out and crushed. Or Art made while ripping someone else's heart out and throwing it into a bottomless ravine of pain. You get the drift. Each piece will be accompanied with a 30 second audio loop - we'll provide the hardware, you tell the story.

Go Postal - We are accepting submissions of art in the mail only -as in, actually mailed to us. Art can be in any format as long as the postage stamp is evident in its display. The theme of the mailing are greatest hope greatest fear.You choose one or both. You can submit as many times as you like. If you would like your art returned please provide a SASE.
Multichannel Video vs. Film - We are now accepting submissions for a multichannel show down between film and video. Video submissions can be made in the form of a DVD or weblink, same with film also accepting 8mm, Super 8mm or 16mm submissions. Although the full curatorial statement is not prepared, the show is an attempt to locate some advantages and disadvantages in aesthetic, process and result of both film and video.
